Whether you choose 3M or Llumar, each offers a great quality window tinting film that you will be happy with.  Do not just grab some cheap stuff off the shelf at wal mart and expect to have a great tint job. A quality film is more expensive but it really does look better and last longer, saving you money in the longer run.

If I had to pick I would lean toward the 3M, mainly because I have used it more. The Llumar is great stuff but I just have not used it as much yet since my supplier gets me the 3M tint.

With any tint job I think the most important choices are made before the job is even started.  Where to take the car is a great thing to know early on.  Along with the cost, it may be the most important issue for you. After that, knowing that a good film will be put on your windows gives you the piece of mind of long lasting quality.

There may even be a guarantee with these depending if they are installed by a qualified installer.  I am not sure so do not quote me on that, but even if you do it yourself, the chances are good it will last longer than the life of the car.

I am not sure if any shops really use low quality tint anymore, but if they do just wait a few years and you will see purple tint and creases show up. This is a sign of bad quality tints and even the greatest installer in the world could not overcome using bad materials.

I would use the best quality tint I could afford and then let the pros install it. You can try it yourself, like I recommend in other posts, but in the end I think  most people would rather pay a couple hundred bucks and know it will be done right.
