If anybody has ever wanted to save a few bucks in their day and loves to work on cars, then buying your own window tint and doing the job yourself is an experience you may never forget. I am assuming you have gathered all your tools and kits for window tinting and are ready to get to work on your automobile.

The goal is to have a cool looking ride with some dark tinted glass that looks sweet.  Now, getting to that is much harder than one would think. But, if you are good you can do it yourself.

Next, you need to find some film to use on your glass. Here, you can try a big box retailer or go to a specialized store. You know which one will be cheaper so you want to save money and I bet you pick the big box store. OK, now we are ready to go shopping.  You have the basic choices of 50%, 35%, or 20% tint in these types of store and the window tint roll is probably going to be around 10 bucks a roll or so. I doubt you have find anything darker than a 20% window tint roll in these stores, so if you are looking for 5% then maybe try to order from some other place or ask the manager if they have anything in back.

Another type of store that has tint is auto stores. Here, I bet it would be more than at a retailer but I bet the quality is better. Cheap tint is hard to work with and the better stuff will hold up better and not crease and bubble nearly as much. So if you choose to get a tint roll here be prepared to pay a bit more for the better quality.

Now you can head home, follow the instructions, and see what happens.  Do not be afraid to try, as if you fail you can just remove the tint and take it to a professional shop to do the job for you.
