Okay, as many people have asked, I came up with some estimates that are good for guessing car window tinting prices in my area. Now, it may vary some compared to other parts of the world, but I think it is a good start on deciding how much to pay for window tint.
With kids and young people wanting to fix up their cars and make them look sweet, it takes alot of money to do this right. When kids do not have good jobs yet it is hard to gets tons of cash together to afford window tint.
The chart below will summarize area car window tinting prices:
2 Door Coupe – Side Windows Only – $90.00
2 Door Coupe – Side and Back Windows – $140.00
2 Door Truck – Side and Back Windows – $125.00
4 Door Car – 4 Windows – $130.00
4 Door Car – 4 Windows and Rear Window – $210.00
Windshield Tint – Add $25 to the total. Some place may throw this in for free. Ask them!
These are just may estimates from about 15 shops in my regional area here. Some had specials some had full price, but this seemed to be an average cost.
Also, they will ask you to sign a waiver if your tint is below the legal limit. I think most states have anything under 50% on the front windows illegal.
It also seemed that the rear window with defroster lines really drove up the prices. So depending on how your car is this could cause a big change in prices. It takes a while to cut around all those lines when getting the tint ready to go on.
Another thing you can do is wait until the winter when the car season has died down some and normally they have some kind of Christmas specials that they will do. You may be able to combine the deal with a remote starter for a great price too. Just be smart and ask around.
If you were to do it yourself I bet you could do it for less than $50 in materials, but you may have overages if you mess up.
