Car Window Tint

Car Window tint can make your car look amazing! There are many places to find cheap window tint.

Window Tint

There are many interesting things to be said about window tint out there. Some people love it, others hate people who have it, either way it is a choice that many people have to make if they want to add it to their automobile. Some people try to DIY window tint and it may not turn out that good unless you went to window tinting school or learned from someone with experience.

Others will try spray window tint which looks good on things like tail lights and headlights, but not the best on windows unless done perfectly. You also need to have the right window tint tools and a tint meter to get it how dark that you want it. Some people do not want to go to all that hassle and just hire window tinting services to get the job done right the first time.

Commercial window tinting can be very useful if you have a fleet of cars or a competition team that you want to do in bulk. These people may come to your place and tint them all at once for a flat fee upfront. It is hard to say exactly how this works because I have never tried it. Could work out cheaper in the long run.

Many people like 3m window tint or llumar tints for their cars or trucks. These are both quality types and you will not be disappointed from a company that uses either one of these films on your windows or back-light.

Most window tints can be had for cheap, but those are not the ones you really want. The quality of the roll may not be the same as some of the better brands out there and you never know about the consistency of the film either. Better be safe than sorry unless you have used the stuff before and know what you are getting. I have some some cool chrome rims and tires ruined by a bad job on the windows so be kind to your wheels and rims and get a good job on the tints.

Automobile window tinting has been around for some time now, but the quality has really improved. Back in the days you used to see purple windows from the tints going old and bad. This does not happen much to quality stuff like 3m or Llumar today and you should not worry about that. Most offer guarantees against the colors going bad, even with blue or red tinted windows.

Hopefully those tidbits of information help you in decided if this is right for you.

Good Tint Information

Finding the right information about window tint can be a daunting task for even the most experienced car or truck guru.  Sometimes when we do not have all the information we need we turn to the web to help us fill in the blanks on what we need to know.  Getting auto tint and installing it may seem like a simple task, but it is far from it, and there are many misconceptions out there about what is right and what is wrong.

If you are looking for vehicle window tint information then you should start with someone who specialize in vehicles.  Many commercial installers do homes and tint them, but that is a totally different skill since most homes do not have curved glass like autos do.  Most home owners want privacy window tint in order to protect prying eyes from looking at their valuables or family members.

One of the simplest forms of films are precut window tint forms that fit directly onto the car window you are trying to darken.  No more cutting to size and dealing with making a template, these pre cut tints make the job a ton easier and should not cost much more. No need to be cheap when you can do the job right the first time and not have to re do it later on in life.

If you are looking for a sweet new look for your ride you can try colored mirror window tint. This stuff shines back all the color and light and makes it nearly impossible to see in your automobile.  While it may look cool, this will definitely get the attention of the cops and you might get yourself a bigger ticket than you would like. Most mirror tint looks good and by adding a film like this you can really make your ride stand out, just be prepared to have a fine or two.

Most reflective window tint really keeps the light and hot air out as well. The reflective properties can really help insulate the car and your air conditioning may work better in the summer, but I have not confirmed this yet.  Using a lumar window tint (llumar) is one way to have a quality install on your SUV, truck, or car that you want to look good for the guys and girls in your city.  Taking pride in your car is very important to many people and can be  a great way to meet new friends in the area.  Look for car clubs or other groups to show your ride off to and maybe get some new ideas for tints and other aftermarket accessories for your automobile.

I saw the coolest car the other day with red window tint. I have heard of it before but did not see it until a few days back. It was on a red car so it blended everything together nicely and it did not look to overdone or goofy looking as some color tints do.  The colored film really looked like the whole windows were painted that color. Blue window tint is another cool color I saw. I think it works best on either blue or black cars, but the blue tint really stood out and got your attention. Definitely an interesting site.

If you are thinking about doing a DIY tint job then be prepared to spend some time.  If you are cheap you have already gone this route, as I did, and noticed it is tougher than you thought.  Some places offer window tint kits to help you with the job and they normally include a razor, knife, solution to spray the windows, squeegees, and maybe a few instructions or tips to help you with your film.  Most window tinting tools that the pro shops use are much better and make it easier to apply the tint, but that is why they are the professionals. If you want to pay top dollar then take it to them and have it done.

Most window tint prices are around $200 – $300 for a full size car and that could vary depending on location and quality and color of the tints you choose.  If you are looking to buy window tint then you should use that price as a good starting point in order to see what kind of deals these places have. You never know if you can bargain with them and save yourself some dough.

Whether your films come in window tint rolls or you have to buy them by the sheet or precut, be sure to really think about doing this job and focusing before you dive into the project. It will take a good day or so if you need the time to practice and have not done it before, but it can be worth the time and effort to have a sweet looking car that protects your eyes and keeps you cool.

Car Window Tinting

As many of us stare out the window looking for something to do this winter, adding auto tint to your favorite vehicle could help you pass the time. Cheap tint films can be found almost anywhere and then you can get to work.

Car window tint has really come down in price and many people are attempting to do this job on their own. I have tried it before, and it is hard, but I really think it can be done with a little patience and the proper technique. Be sure to follow all the instructions on the film, since each maybe slightly different.  Be sure to have enough water and either adhesive or hair spray or whatever other chemical you need to get the auto tint to stick to your car or truck.

Having a straight edge of some sort, a ruler will work if you do not have the right tool, but I do not recommend using things that are not meant for the job at hand. I would not want to screw up my car because I was lazy and did not want to use the right equipment.
Also, it is going to take more time than you think. This process is time consuming and you want to do the job right. You have to have sharp razors or a knife to trim the window tint to your proper sizes too. A dull blade can rip the tint and make it look awful. The goal is a nice clean installation.

When working outside in a garage you need to have a clean place to place your car window tint. Without it, you will get scuffs and scratches in it, or even make it more prone to bubbling or having air bubbles trapped in it. This is always a sign of a bad job. Real experts do not have bubbles in their window tinting jobs. If you have a heated garage this job will be much easier. No one wants to work in the winter without it. This will allow your hands to be free and allow them to bend easily. It takes a fine touch to apply the skill it takes to get the window tint on right.

After you have the side windows done, it is time to attempt the back one, or back-light as they call it. This one is always the hardest because their are rear defroster lines that run across it. You must put a template up and then cut out where the lines will be in the window tint. This is key because the defroster lines could burn through and maybe even cause a fire in your vehicle.

The key with this part is even more patience as it can ruin the whole job if the back-light does not look good. Remember, spend a few hours now for a lifetime of enjoying your cool new ride.

The final part is letting the tint film set up on the windows. This can take 3 – 5 days so do not roll down your glass for any reason during this time frame. I like to place some tape over the controls so I do not forget. Also, your passengers will not remember either so be sure to tape their controls too.

Auto Window Tinting

I would like to summarize all my useful information about finding, installing, searching, and getting a good deal on window tint in this post.  Window tinting has become very popular in the last twenty years.  The quality of the auto tint has really gotten much better and window tinting prices are very affordable too.  Adding the window tint film does not take more than a few hours for a qualified professional.  Cheap window tints are available too if your buddy works at a shop or can get the material for really cheap.  With all of these things going for us, it is no wonder their are so many cars or autos with dark windows out there.

So what are the advantages of auto window tinting?  Well, the biggest one I can think of is that it keeps your car cooler and reflects the sunlight away from sensitive eyes. I always had to wear sunglasses so window tint was a blessing for me.  Now, I do not have to worry about getting a headache if I forget my sunglasses.  Also, being a bit cooler in the summer helps the air conditioner not have to work as hard, but this is a small benefit.

Another huge advantage of getting your windows tinted is that is looks so much better.  You car will  now stand out with the tints on all your windows. You will really have a huge advantage if you compare your car or truck to someone else with window tint.  Most custom cars are tinted and there is a simple reason, it just looks good.

Are there any disadvantages to getting windows tinted?  Yes, you could risk getting pulled over by the police, since dark windows are against the law in most states. The law various, but normally anything over 50% tinted is too dark.  I must say you can barely even tell a car is tinted at that. 35% is still way to light in my opinion, but it is your risk.

Another thing to consider is the safety issue driving. It will be harder to see out of your car or truck now. Turning can be challenging and backing up can really be hard. You need to learn how to properly use your mirrors and look both ways.

In conclusion, I have had window tint on all of my cars so far, and am very happy doing it. Just be sure to know the risks involved.  Do all the research now and get no surprises later. Enjoy your sweet looking ride.

Keep your car cool with auto tint

Ever go out into the hot sun and notice your car feels like an oven? Well, with good window tint it does not have to be that way.  Adding auto tint to your car can greatly reduce the temperature inside your car on a hot summer day.  The reason is simple, the tint reflects the sunlight, hence keeping it much cooler inside the vehicle.

So where do I go to find a quality window tinting operation?  Well, I would check with family and friends before I make any appointments. Some shops are much more reliable than others.  Any reputable car or truck performance store should offer a guarantee on their tint jobs.  If they do not, walk out the door.

Next, set up your appointment to get all your windows tinted.  Just tinting the front or back will look kinda dumb, so go all out and do the whole car.  You may want to also add a banner across the top of your windshield.  This can make it easier to see the lights when you are stopped at a red light. It is also nice to have in the mornings or evenings when the sun is going down.

The typical cost of a 4 window tint job, including the back window, is roughly $250 bucks.  Some may be more or less, but this is a good ballpark figure. Throw in another 35 or so for the windshield banner, and you should be good to go.  You may be able to find someone do this job on the side for cheaper though. Just check around and make sure they are dependable.  I have seen some messed up tint jobs with cheap window tint on them and it makes the car look really bad.

I should also mention this will help keep the heat in during the winter.  Once you have the inside warmed up, the tint acts as insulation and helps to keep it warmer. While it is not a huge difference, I can tell a bit.

This should help you get started on finding a quality place for your car or truck to be serviced.
